Ztreeng eet

I just got my guitar out, but since I hadn't played on it in ages I had to tune it massively. One careless moment and one string went to Valhalla (200 meters down the road, then take a left and then the second right. It'll the big blue building on your right.)

Fortunately there's a musix shop on my way to school, so I can fix it tomorrow without much trouble, but I really wanted to spend the last hours before bedtime making musix.

2 attempts to coup this post so far.:

The last time I changed a single string was at least 15 years ago. I know this because I remember doing it in the living room of my parents old house in Launceston.

I tend to replace all my strings, and I do it fairly regularly too. Not every week like some people do; it's probably every couple of months. New strings sound delicious, but the guitar sounds weird if only one of two of the strings sound new and bright, while the rest are old and dull sounding.

There's one music shop (Tottles) in Launceston and it's waaaay too expensive. I can get a good pack of strings online for £4, and that same pack will cost £9 in Tottles. What a rip off!

Anyway, the point of my post...

My advice is to find somewhere that sells full sets of strings, like www.stringsdirect.co.uk but in vikingland. Buy 5 packs, and every time you need to replace a string, replace *all* of them. When you get to the point where you only have one pack of strings left, order 5 more.

That reminds me, I need to order some strings today.

I'm glad you're still playing and learning. We should make a song using our guitars and the amazing power of INTERWEBS.

I intend to replace all of the strings, but since I've never actually replaced them before my sister (my siblings are musix peoplez) advised me to go to a shop and ask them to guide me along the way.
